What is a typical session like with you?
The majority of my sessions take place either outdoors, preferably in nature habitats (the wilder, the better) or client homes. Regardless of location, I like a go-with-the-flow kind of session, sometimes lending prompts or conversation to guide an authentic moment. I like a mix of coming together for some loosely posed photographs, while also documenting the small, real in-between moments.
Where are you based and do you travel?
I'm based out of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and generally photograph in surrounding and varying locations just outside the Oshkosh area. I'm generally willing to travel, but please do inquire prior to booking a session.
How soon should we book, how fast do you book up?
ASAP, my friend! I am only accepting one-two full sessions per week, to give each session the post-processing time it deserves - and, to maintain my sanity. Late summer and the entirety of fall are my (and every other photographer's!) busiest times of the year and generally start to book up in late spring already. Please don't wait until the last minute. I want to photograph you, I do I do! Book now.
How do we book a session?
That one's easy! Click on any of the "book now" buttons or at the bottom of this page, or my main menu. From there, you'll be able to see which days and times work best for you. It really is that simple.
What should we wear, how do we prepare for our session?
Don't worry! All clients will have access to my "clients" page, where you can check out everything you need, to prepare for before (and after!) your session -- and yes, this includes a style/outfit guide to help steer you in the right direction!
When will we get our photos?
An online gallery link will be emailed to you, with all of your photos within 3 weeks (this can at times vary depending on the season and other factors). You can download your selected photos from the gallery and also share them, choose your favorites, and order prints directly from your gallery, if you choose.
How many pictures will we receive?
Each full session includes 15 edited high-resolution images (mini sessions include 5), with printing rights for your convenience. On average, most galleries include 75-150 images for you to select from, with the option to purchase additional images or full galleries at a discounted rate.
How are our images delivered?
Via high-resolution downloads, directly from your gallery. Automatic ordering for prints and print products is also available, with just a few clicks.
Should I order prints from my photographer?
I'll be honest, in the past I didn't offer prints or have a preferred print lab and I just told clients to print wherever (and only mildly discouraged certain places). After experiencing some serious letdown with my own personal orders, I decided to do a fairly massive comparison between a number of high-end and low-end labs. After that, do I recommend ordering direct from your photographer? Heck yes, 100% yes. YES. The main reason is for color and quality consistency and control. My preferred print lab is best matched and color calibrated to most closely resemble to how I edit, versus what different screens (and print labs) might display. Trust me on this one. That being said, I won't hold a grudge if you choose to order elsewhere - you do you! I just want you to be happy to hang them on your walls (preferably, forever).
